I was honored to attend New York Fashion Week. It was an eye opener in more ways than one. Not only was the fashion from the designers breathtakingly eye catching, it was the energy of creativity in the atmosphere. How beautiful it was to see a bunch of like-minded creators like myself.
New York City makes one never want to look back. It's a way of life, the traffic, ( yes everyone is honking everywhere), the appreciation for life and self-love whereas each soul chooses to just be themselves; unapologetically. New York has a raw beauty and Fashion Week amplified that. We were lucky to stay in Harlem, close to all the action and where the Harriet Tubman statue is located. We were gifted to also get a special taste of " Bo's Bagels" with their unique knitted wall art and dance to some amazing music as 116th street was shut down for it's weekly DJ display of Old School Hip Hop and RNB. Can you really say that you've walked down the street dancing to a catalogue of Biggie Smalls? Only in Harlem my friends. I know Labor Day Eastern Park Way is a major deal, as well as the Caribbean music awards, but dressing up for fashion week, posing on the red carpet, expressing your inner fashionista, and being amongst some of biggest and best designers while meeting some beautiful models and creative entrepreneurs is worth this being an annual trip.
